Operated by Navy veteran, Patrick "Sarge" Avon, author and performance coach for over 25 years. His background in fitness and performance is diverse, to say the least. He holds many certifications and even created one for his other business, The Sergeant's Program. A Performance Enhancement Coach and Corrective Exercise Specialist, Sarge has a keen eye for muscle imbalances and how they hinder performance.

Ed Shrader entered the Health and Fitness Industry in 1989. In 1991 he opened his first fitness facility and grew the BodyWorks Health and Wellness Clubs to a 4 club chain. He has been a featured speaker at international fitness conferences and a contributor to several industry magazines. Ed had a radio show called 'Fitness Matters' on two separate occasions, one in Frederick and one in Baltimore. After selling BodyWorks in 2002 he has served as GM at several elite clubs from Baltimore to New Jersey. He currently owns two Fitness Together personal training studios in Baltimore. Ed has competed in several marathons and triathlons, as well as winning his weight group in an NPC bodybuilding competition. Ed is married with one son and lives in Monrovia, MD.

Josh Hosey, BS

Josh Hosey earned his Bachelor of Science from Salisbury University. He has also completed his CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) certification. Josh is also a varsity lacrosse coach at Tuscarora High School in Frederick County.

Jesse Michalski, BS

Jesse has received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He has also completed certification through the American College of Sports Medicine as a certified personal trainer, as well as being CPR certified by the American Heart Association. He has plans to take NSCA-CSCS in the near future. He played just about every sport growing up but got seriously into soccer and track where he played for Urbana High School and Frederick Soccer Club.

Elizabeth Bundy, BA, NASM CPT

Elizabeth has an extensive background in both group and personal training. She received her B.A. at Baylor University, holds a Personal Trainer Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a R.I.P.P.E.D. Certification, and an American Red Cross CPR/AED Certification. Elizabeth is an avid runner, placing in several marathons.

Isaac Avon, Army ROTC

Isaac Avon is in the Army ROTC program and is a current student and Assistant Strength Coach at the University of Maryland. Upon completion of his degree, Isaac will commission in the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant. While attending the Virginia Military Institute, Isaac majored in Business with a minor in Exercise Science.
Since 2010, Isaac has been under the tutelage of the Sarge Athletics’ Strength & Conditioning coaches and began working with Athletes as a Student Coach in 2015. Isaac played two seasons of college-level lacrosse and is a competitive athlete. He recently placed 3rd in the SuperFit Games and 10th in the Gangs of the Mid-Atlantic competitions. Isaac is passionate about helping others and sports performance. Fitness is in his DNA. |
Rob Dixon, JD

Rob Dixon has trained in the speed and agility field for over 20 years. Rob is an elite track and field competitor and began coaching other athletes immediately after earning two academic degrees from West Virginia University. He holds a USA Track & Field Level 1 coaching certification and trains professional, collegiate, high school and youth athletes. Rob has coached several youth national champions, state champions, full athletic scholarship winners and event record holders. His teams at Frederick High School Track & Field won two Maryland 3a Girls State Championships in 2017 and 2018. Rob believes success is more than just winning a race, or setting new records; it’s about developing character.

Ari Mazziotta holds certifications as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He began his athletic journey at the age of 5 when he began competing in gymnastics and martial arts. During his career he has earned medals in regional martial arts demonstrations as well as tumbling competitions. Ari played recreational racquetball, tennis, soccer, and baseball throughout his school years. In 2012, Ari obtained his Parkour Instructor certification from American Parkour and immediately developed Parkour Evolution for a local training facility. Ari devotes most of his free time to training and competing in powerlifting and strongman.
Joseph Hart earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2018 from Salisbury University. Joseph has played soccer most of his life, competing along the east coast and in State tournaments. In high school, Joseph played soccer for four years and competed in regional finals. He also played volleyball for three years when his team reached the co-ed county championship.
Byron Ross earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing with a minor in Sport and Event Management from Elon University. During his time at Elon, he was in a diverse array of clubs such as Club Basketball, the Fire of the Carolinas Marching Band, and Vital Signs A Cappella. Byron has had a love for sports and fitness throughout his life, growing up as an avid fan of basketball and football.
